Dato' Dr. Devman Segar was born in Kedah
and raised in Kuala Lumpur. He completed Form Six at SMK Datok Lokman in Jalan
Kampung Pandan, Kuala Lumpur before leaving to India to pursue his further studies.
He then returned back to Malaysia and tried his hands in various business ventures.
Coming from a humble background, his parents always reminded him that a good education was the key to success and Dato' Dr. Devman never stopped learning.
In between his busy schedule, he managed to find time to complete his Master’s Degree in Business Administration (MBA) and then a Doctorate in Business Administration (DBA) from the University of Malaya.
With more than three decades of experience in the business world, Dato' Dr. Devman is regarded by many as a veteran in the education sector, having worked with many prestigious institutions of higher learning in various capacities.
Allowing access for higher education to people from all walks of life has been the foundation of Dato’ Dr. Devman’s involvement in the education sector.
He is currently the Corporate Director of Yes International College and Director of Student Affairs at Stradford International College. He is also the corporate advisor to several private colleges and a trustee of an international university based in Tamil Nadu, India.
On the corporate front, he runs several companies such as Eco Jaya Development Sdn Bhd, Milogro Prego (M) Sdn Bhd (formerly known as Mediluxure (M) Sdn Bhd, Agensi Pekerjaan Malgo (M) Sdn Bhd, Malaysian International Film Academy (Minfa) and Beyond Life Digital Legacy Centre.
Besides the corporate world, Dato’ Dr. Devman is very much involved in charitable causes through his foundation, the Malaysian International Humanitarian Welfare Foundation.
For his outstanding services to the community and the country, he was awarded a ‘Datukship’ by the Sultan of Pahang in 2014.
Dato’ Dr. Devman is also particularly well known for his involvement in setting up the Malaysian Indian Funeral Association (MIFA), primarily to assist the community to carry out bereavement services in a proper and easy manner. This initiative also serves a noble cause, which is to help cover funeral expenses for families who cannot afford it.
Apart from this, Dato’ Dr. Devman has also contributed to various charitable organisations and NGOs in Malaysia and around the world.
He is currently working with relevant Governments of several least developed countries to promote renewable energy as a source of power.
